A self-publisher, Louise Gilbert, shares her experience of planning her book.

I first came into contact with PublishMe back in 2009 when I had just started writing my book. At that time I was full of questions and changeable demands: could I print on special paper with a gold edge? could I include a ribbon for a bookmark? could I get my book to Frankfurt bookfair? what if I wanted an embossed title? Could Publishme meet my timeframes? At one stage I was worried about the length of time my writing was taking and was on the mission for a Ghostwriter. Or maybe I just needed a good editor? Publishme has consistently been there to assist me at anytime with my questions however big, small or silly. It was a no-brainer that I was going to publish with them - I did not look elsewhere.

My manuscript is now finished and so is my book cover. Adrian did an amazing job on the design. I went for the professional package and it was more than worth it. Adrian listened to what I wanted to achieve, asked lots of questions and was genuinely interested in aligning with my thoughts and ideas so he could put my vision to paper. I can't quite figure out how Publishme can provide such professional services for so little cost. I am choosing to self publish to retain my independence and control over my first book. Publishme are working with me to make sure we get a professional quality result and I know they will be there as much as I need them to be. The process is like preparing for a birth - after years of conception . and choosing your birthing partner is hugely important!

I have also purchased the Selling to Bookstores and Coming out on Top packages. The fact that they include consultancy time made them attractive packages. When you are publishing for the first time you need all the information you can get - so if Publishme have published it, I want to read it! They are sitting on my desk waiting for me to do something with them - I can't wait to get onto this next stage of the project.

Thanks Publishme . working with you is making the whole process enjoyable. Even though we don't have a huge amount of contact just knowing you are there makes all the difference!
