These are from the first launch in Warkworth where we sold 45 books.

Organised by Rae McGregor and Valda Paddison who worked closely with PublishMe in the production of this book.

Prior to her 45th birthday Bronwyn (Author of Adam’s Ale) sent a square of red material to her friends and asked that they make a piece for a quilt she wanted to assemble, a sort of birthday/memorial quilt. The majority of her friends were non-sewers so the results were interesting. Many of the pieces represented aspects of the sewer’s friendship with Bronwyn.

Just about everybody sent an accompanying letter or card to explain what they had done and Bronwyn pasted these into a book so everyone could understand the significance of the various pieces. It was a huge job for her to assemble the quilt and she had help from different groups of women at different times but it was mostly her own work. The result is stunning and a real testament to friendship, love and the incredible determination of a dying woman.
