Like his ill-assorted bunch of friends, Dennis Davenport has few social graces and hardly seems destined to achieve fame for his research into biological cloning. The Davenport Files is a comedy of social, sexual and academic life, narrated by a ubiquitous youth with a bad case of acne and a tendency to flatulence. Its characters include the philoprogenitive Bunny Kyle, the Bible-misquoting Murray Pearson, the misogynist idiot savant Grudge, the two Professors Dopson, the bluestocking Miranda Parker-Wescott, the sex siren Amber Debreceny, the beer-swilling playwright Smythe, and other maladjusted individuals.
