We left Rickie and his brother Tylor in transit between the Black Mountains and an unknown destination, wondering what adventures and challenges would await them this time in their quest to return home. The three encounter Moles, Ghost Troopers, Zombies and other cryptic creatures from the murky darkness of evil. The brothers’ story interweaves with Samantha’s as she and her new comrades, Bradley, Elena and Logan, fight their way to the truth amidst bourbon-fuelled encounters with swarms of the undead and the grotesque Howlers. As both the Black Amber and Black Amulet increase in strength, they mysteriously control the destiny of their respective caretakers, bringing the brothers and Samantha ever closer to the answers they all desperately seek …
