About this title.
Byte sized problems chewed over by two reknown columists. We live in a world increasingly driven by science and technology but to the casual observer it seems to be finance, management and the law doing the day to day driving. Over the last 50 years enthusiasm and support for science has waxed and waned. During our science careers, embarked upon when science was King, the negative perception of science has been mirrored by the increased public reliance on science. No country in the world can avoid this. Our readers are intelligent and curious. They want to know. Happily books on "popular science" are now plentiful. This book is a selection of our columns from "Analyse This" which has run in the "Manawatu Standard" (Qantas Media Awards – First Regional Daily Newspaper 2008) for over three years. The subjects were usually selected from significant topical events or media reports. We expect you will enjoy our selection and that it will stimulate interest in some of the problems which face us all in the 21st Century. Happy reading.
