About this Author.
John’s passion for thoughtful writing began during his late teens and led to the publishing of “I Like Surprises!” Birthed to Dutch immigrants in Eketahuna in 1959, John heralds from the Manawatu and spent 25 years living in Lower Hutt, where, together with wife Jenny, they have three teenage daughters and a son. Four children, a midlife BA with psychology and sociology majors (Massey University) and two management diplomas later, John abandoned the treadmill to enjoy his passions: Life Itself, people, writing and reading. Ever an ardent proponent of working smarter not harder, he retired at age 44 to focus on unleashing the creativity within. Not expected to see 20, in “I Like Surprises!” John describes a life that goes beyond enduring, surviving and ‘not too bad, thank you’. John resides in New Plymouth, New Zealand and devotes his energy and attention to furthering the work of living Spiritual Master Sri Bhagavan YanchiGuruji (and to finishing a second book!).
