A collection of 39 stories for Kiwi kids by the Tauranga Writers for Children. Illustrated by primary school students and dedicated to the many children that listen in to Stroyline, run by the Bay of Plenty Times.

About this Author.

Tauranga Writers for Children is a not-for-profit group. A percentage of the books we produce are given to charities such as the Crippled Children's Society and Cancer Society, and to (generally) low decile schools in the Bay of Plenty. We made a single donation of 920 Book Three, Stories for Kiwi Kidz to primary schools in Fiji, distributed by Mercy Ships based in Tauranga. Tauranga Writers for Children came into being in 1991. Membership has remained steady and enthusiastic. Most of our members are published authors, some in a range of genre. We work with schools, talking to pupils about writing and reading stories to them. Our Mission Statement includes passing on our joy of, and encouraging, reading, writing and imagination. For four years, Tauranga Writers for Children provided a story each week for a phone-in 'Story Line' run by the Bay of Plenty Times. Children in the free-call area could listen as often as they wished gratis. (A break-down in machinery regrettably ended this very popular service.)
