About this title.

The sad fact is that sometimes kids need help to survive those difficult teen years because they aren’t mature enough to know when “rebellious” behaviour is dangerous behaviour. The teen years can be an equally difficult time for parents. If you don’t know what to do or where to turn, this booklet may provide some helpful advice. Originally an article in Parenting, titled Before It’s Too Late, this 50-page booklet has 45 suggestions for parents on preventing and dealing with “rebellious” behaviour. It starts with ideas to keep kids on track, which are best implemented in the pre-teen years, then moves on to tips to deal with rebellious behaviour once it has started. The final section, Taking Back Control, is advice on how to deal with a teen who has gone off the rails.

About this Author.

Surviving was written by a mother whose daughter went through this phase, bunking school, drinking, having underage sex, smoking dak, running away. In the (harrowing) process of getting her daughter back on track, she interviewed a range of parents and wanted to share their suggestions and advice, as well as her own solutions, with other parents going through the same stressful experience.
