About this title.
Takai is a bilingual collection of poems in both English and Niue language translation. The collection is eclectic with haikus, quatrains, tanrengas and free verse as well as songs. Most of the poetry is written in a succinct style with a bit of wry humour in some. The poems were written between 1993 and 2007 and covered the writer's experiences over places travelled and things observed.

About this Author.
I am Niuean/English born in Niue. I came to New Zealand when I was 6. I was educated throughout my younger years in Invercargill and received my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Auckland. I have 3 young daughters who are the loves of my life. I have been writing poetry since 1993. Penina he Magafaoa is my first bilingual poetry book. I received a Creative NZ grant to publish this book as a poetry resource.
