Book Two; Ever since their encounter with the rainbow, the three hens Clancy, Ellen and Angie have found nothing but trouble. Their friend Horse has given them a home in the stable, but even so their troubles on Farmer Brown’s farm with their eggs, the wolf, and the wintry weather have given the hens something to think about. Maybe it is time to leave and move on. How will the three hens deal with their rainbow troubles away from everything they have ever known? And will Horse decide to go with them?

I was born and grew up in Timaru, New Zealand, and have spent the last eighteen years living in Wellington, New Zealand. Before that I spent four years living in Boston, USA, with my husband. I have always enjoyed the written word, but I was drawn to creative writing in my early adult years, and have kept pencil to paper, on and off ever since, in between jobs and raising a family. The Hen Stories were first told as bedtime stories to my children. The difference between them and other bedtime stories was that my children invited them back. “Mum, can we have a hen story?” Now, with the children nearly grown, I have had more time to write, and, after repeated requests, I have finally brought these stories to light.
