Walker is an extraordinary book. Set in a mediaeval other world, it tells the story of a boy, rejected from his village, who joins the ‘Walkers’ - loners travelling through a harsh landscape. The Walkers have gifts and the boy more than the others. Battling their resentment, a world full of loneliness and dangers plus his own growing, this book is a gripping, intriguing tale that is difficult to put down. As a work of fantasy fiction it stands apart and is highly recommended.
